For completeness, Table 4.9 presents the in-migration rates. Minneapolis-St. Paul’s ranks fifteenth at 1.15 percent, which is once again below the median. Nevertheless, its ranking is higher than the demographic that did not contain the additional restriction of there being a school-age child in the household. The metropolitan areas with the highest inward migration ranks are Riverside, Phoenix, Charlotte, Atlanta, and Tampa. Again, these are the same five metropolitan areas with the highest outward migration rates. The metropolitan areas with the lowest inward migration rates are New York, Detroit, Los Angeles, Chicago, and Philadelphia.
